9 Best Zombie Movies of the 1970s
The zombie subgenre of horror truly came to life in the 1970s, and George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead deserves most of the credit for that. Released in 1968, the movie reinvented zombies from mind-controlled servants to flesh-eating, resurrected creatures. While earlier films had depicted zombies as isolated creatures, Romero ushered in the “zombie apocalypse,” where society was forced to go into panic mode because whoever got bitten turned into a zombie, too.
