CMAT and more join Fontaines D.C. and Lankum on Lovely Days Live line-up at Guinness Dublin HQ

CMAT has been announced as the second headliner of the Lovely Days Live series at the Guinness HQ in Dublin. Find all the details below.
Last week, it was confirmed that Dublin bands Fontaines D.C. and Lankum would be taking to the stage at the event in their home city on Sunday May 25.
“Act 1 is officially revealed. You won’t want to miss the gig of the year at The Home of Guinness,” organisers wrote about the forthcoming show.
Today (April 23), Lovely Days Live has shared the bill for the previous day (Saturday May 24). Headlining this edition will be CMAT, who was born in Dublin and previously studied at the city’s Trinity College.
The musician (real name Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) is set to be joined on stage by her Very Sexy CMAT Band. Support on the day will come from Dublin-based singer-songwriter Morgana and Irish trad supergroup BIIRD.
Announcing the show, CMAT wrote: “CMAT? more like splitting-the-g-mat hahaha. The Very Sexy CMAT Band will be playing a gig in the HQ of my hometown’s small artesian stout company ‘Guinness’ on May the 24th.”
Fans can apply for tickets via a ballot system – you can do so here until 2pm BST this Friday (April 25). Tickets are priced at €44.50 (£33.45) each, with all proceeds going to The Guinness Dublin 8 Community Fund.
Successful ticket holders will be notified by email next Monday (April 28), though organisers note that the show is a “limited capacity event”.
The Guinness Dublin 8 Community Fund helps to champion projects across education, sustainability and community enhancement initiatives within the local community.
News about the line-up for the Friday (May 23) edition of Lovely Days Live is due to arrive in the coming weeks.
The gig series, which takes place at St. James’s Gate between May 23 and May 25, is described as “an unforgettable three-day music, food and culture experience”.
Alan McAleenan, Guinness Ireland Marketing Director, said: “We’ve welcomed people through the Guinness gates before, but never on this scale! It’s a special moment for us. For the first time ever, we’re opening our home celebrating with the community like never before.
“Guinness is incredibly proud to be part of the Dublin 8 community, and what makes this event even more meaningful is that every cent from ticket sales will be given back to the local community.”
CMAT is scheduled to release her third studio album, ‘Euro-Country’, on August 29 (pre-order/pre-save here). She has already previewed the project – which follows 2023’s ‘Crazymad, For Me’ – with the uplifting single ‘Running/Planning’.
The artist has also announced a UK and European tour for 2025, including a gig at Dublin’s 3Arena in December. Find any remaining tickets (UK/Ireland) here.
Additionally, CMAT is set to make appearances at numerous summer festivals – including Glastonbury, Tramlines, Green Man and Wide Awake. In June, she’ll open for Sam Fender at his huge stadium shows in London and Newcastle.
Speaking to NME about ‘Euro-Country’ recently, CMAT explained: “There is lots and lots of new music and it’s coming very soon. I spent all of September to December working on it in a hole in New York City. It’s done now. I lost my mind there for a bit, but it sounds great.”
She continued: “I’m really focusing on songs that transfer well to live music, because my live band is such an important part of what I do. They’re the basis of me becoming a well-known person in the UK who is able to sell tickets to gigs. I wouldn’t be able to do it if it wasn’t for my band, so I wrote an album for both them and me to slay.”
