Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in 'Andor'

Cassian Andor’s journey to becoming a rebel spy reaches its conclusion in the second and final season of Andor.

Created by Tony Gilroy, the Star Wars series serves as a prequel to 2016’s Rogue One and the original 1977 film, and follows Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) path from common thief to a key revolutionary in the Rebel Alliance.

The show’s supporting cast includes Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay, and Varada Sethu. In the second season, Ben Mendelsohn and Alan Tudyk reprise their roles of Orson Krennic and K-2SO respectively from Rogue One.

Andor’s first season scored critical acclaim when it released in 2022, including three Emmy nominations. The second and final season debuted in April 2025.

Who composed the soundtrack for Andor season 2?

After Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, Succession) scored Andor’s first season, Brandon Roberts takes over soundtrack duties in the second. His previous credits include Jordan Peel’s remake of The Twilight Zone and 2018 documentary film Free Solo.

You can check out the first track from Andor season two, titled ‘Andor Onward’, below.

More tracks are set to be released on a weekly basis alongside the new episodes, with the full soundtrack arriving on May 13, 2025.

What other songs feature in the show?

In the show’s third episode, a dance track plays during a wedding sequence on a speaker droid. This song is actually a remixed version of the song ‘Niamos!’ by the show’s original composer Nicholas Brittell, which featured in the first season.

Speaking to Slashfilm about the track, showrunner Tony Gilroy said: “So ‘Niamos’ came up the first time in season one when we went to [the planet] Niamos. We really liked that song a lot. And then, it’s very difficult to do source music in the show.

“So [Nicholas Brittell] took that Niamos theme and, if you listen very carefully, it’s back in the brothel in the very beginning [of the season one premiere], played weirdly. It’s also in [Mon Mothma’s Chandrilan Embassy on Coruscant] played sort of backwards. So we sort of said, ‘What if it’s a galactic hit? What if that’s a really big galactic hit?’ So we’re like, ‘We’re going to do the wedding.'”
