'Superman's First Reviews Reveal James Gunn Soars to New Heights with DCU's First Movie
Look up at the sky. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's an overused joke, and the first reviews for Superman. The DCU's first flagship movie is just days away from being released in theaters, after two years of build-up. James Gunn writes and directs the film, with David Corenswet playing the DCU's Man of Steel, taking over from Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in the old DCEU under Zack Snyder. Fans are incredibly anxious to see Superman, as it will usher in a new (and much brighter) age for DC on the big and small screen. With Superman flying into theaters on July 11, critics have begun to have their say. It's time to find out whether Superman soars to great heights or if the Man of Steel's debut flight comes crashing down.
