All the actors confirmed for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Filming has begun on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but which actors will be part of the film? Read on for the full list.

The fourth film in the Spider-Man film series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is due to be released on July 31, 2026, and filming is now underway at Pinewood Studios in England.

Brand New Day will be the 38th film overall in the MCU and will serve as the second entry in Phase Six, the follow-up to the current release The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

It will also pick up the Spider-Man story after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, a film that saw an appearance from Doctor Strange break open the multiverse and bring several surprise visitors into Peter Parker’s universe – including his alternate versions played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.

In a four-star review of that film, NME wrote: “No Way Home is the ultimate Spider-Man film. There are moments here that make you want to cheer and weep simultaneously. It’s not the most visually spectacular, it’s not the funniest, but it’s the most emotionally rich. For Spider-Man fans who’ve stuck with the character through the soaring highs and the sticky lows, this is your reward. And it makes it all worth it.”

The MCU’s previous Spider-Man films were Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and all three up to this point were directed by Jon Watts, also known for Wolfs and Cop Car.

All the actors confirmed for Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The new film is set to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who established himself with Short Term 12 and Just Mercy and was brought into the MCU with 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The screenplay comes from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who also penned the previous three Spider-Man films.

With glimpses of the shooting now filtering through, here are all the details we have of the cast for Brand New Day:

• Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The English actor returns in the title role, having first appeared in the MCU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.

• Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones-Watson. Holland’s real-life partner was finally confirmed to be involved in June after years of back-and-forth uncertainty. Her role is expected to be reduced from previous instalments.

• Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. Peter Parker’s former best friend was also confirmed to be returning in June, although again it is unclear how extensive his involvement will be.

• Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. The founding Avenger was confirmed as appearing in the film last week. It follows on from major MCU stars appearing in previous films in the series, including Robert Downey Jr. in Homecoming and Samuel L. Jackson in Far From Home.

• Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. He will reprise the role he debuted in the Daredevil Netflix series and his own two-season show. His appearance was confirmed in June, with Bernthal’s initial reluctance being overcome by the creative overhaul midway through pre-production.

• Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion. The character was captured by Spider-Man and arrested in Homecoming and will return in Brand New Day.

• Sadie Sink. The Stranger Things star has been confirmed for a role in the film, although it is unknown who she will play. Reports are that her role will be “significant”, with rumours linking her with the X-Men mutant Jean Grey.

• Liza Colon-Zayas. The star of The Bear will also be part of Brand New Day, although her character is not confirmed.

• Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Although not officially confirmed, he is expected to also make an appearance. He served as Peter Parker’s lawyer in No Way Home.
