'Jurassic Park III' Is Better Than Steven Spielberg's 'The Lost World'

When discussing the Jurassic Parkfranchise, it's universally acknowledged that it began with a great and seminal film, followed by sequels of varying quality that never lived up to the original. In terms of the sequels, they must be evaluated on their own merits rather than directly comparing them to the first film, as none of them have yet matched the magic of Steven Spielberg's masterpiece. Oddly enough, Spielberg himself attempted to recapture that magic with 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park, a sequel that ultimately proved inferior to its predecessor. Still seeing the value of the franchise at the time, Jurassic Park III emerged in 2001, without Spielberg at the helm, and it managed to do what the second film couldn't by being a fun action flick that put the focus on the dinosaurs, minus the bloated runtime. It's time to admit it's the superior film of the two.
