KATSEYE to return with new single, ‘Gnarly’
KATSEYE are set to return with a new single titled ‘Gnarly’ later this month.
The new track was announced on April 23 via social media, after the six-piece had been cryptically teasing new music in the days leading up to the announcement. Due out April 30, ‘Gnarly’ is set to mark KATSEYE’s first new music release since they made their debut last year.
A video teaser released alongside the announcement features a shot of a refrigerator opening up, revealing a mysteriously labelled bottle of green liquid that leaks out to spell out ‘Gnarly’.

KATSEYE made their debut last August with ‘SIS (Soft Is Strong)’, which featured the singles ‘Debut’ and ‘Touch’. In a four-star review of the record, NME’s Mika Chen called the EP a “surprisingly cohesive release that largely captures the group’s enormous potential” but criticised the short length of its tracks.
KATSEYE were also selected as one of the emerging essential artists to watch in 2025 for the NME 100. NME also named ‘Touch’ as one of the 50 best songs of 2024: “It’s one thing to make an earworm, and another to transform a pop song into something akin to muscle memory. That’s what K-pop does best [and] KATSEYE proved that they’re scholars of K-pop’s most important lessons.”
Comprising members Sophia, Manon, Daniella, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae, KATSEYE was formed in November 2023 through HYBE x Geffen Records’ reality show Dream Academy. They were the final six among the 20 contestants who competed in the series.
