Tessa Thompson Reimagines a Classic in First 'Hedda' Trailer
Tessa Thompson stars in the latest trailer for Hedda, a romantic drama directed by Nia DaCosta. A reimagining of Hedda Gabler from celebrated playwright Henrik Ibsen, considered one of the greatest plays of all time since its debut in 1891, Hedda sees Thompson step into the role of the title character, a woman trapped in a marriage she no longer feels happy with, which unravels even more when an old flame re-enters the picture. The film's synopsis says, "Over the course of one charged night, long-repressed desires and hidden tensions erupt — pulling her and everyone around her into a spiral of manipulation, passion, and betrayal."
