The Price Is Right at Night Offers Big Twists and Prizes in Season Finale
The Price Is Right at Night officially wraps up its latest season on CBS with some impressive upgrades in terms of prizes for the contestants.
As a fan of the long-running game show, I’ve always enjoyed watching contestants try to outwit pricing games or use skills to defeat particular challenges to win.
The game show still includes popular games from when Bob Barker hosted, as Drew Carey presents the exciting games Hot Seat and Hole in One on the Season 6 primetime finale.
The latter features an additional twist, which makes sense since a contestant can win more prizes than usual, so there’s absolutely no reason it shouldn’t be more difficult.
The Price Is Right Offers Big Prizes in Primetime Finale
During The Price Is Right at Night finale, a contestant learns he’ll put his golf skills on display to try to sink a winning putt for Hole in One.
Contestants typically play to win a new car, but this primetime version brings even more pressure since the contestant can win two brand-new cars.
An additional twist makes it more challenging to sink that putt: the fake green on the stage features a windmill positioned in front of the hole.
Drew offers the contestant the opportunity to remove the windmill and try to make the hole-in-one for one car, or keep the obstacle there during his putt for a chance to win both vehicles.
Hot Seat Also Features an Upgraded Prize in the Finale
Another game many viewers have seen on The Price Is Right is Hot Seat, in which contestants typically attempt to win a $20,000 cash prize.
However, one game show contestant can win $200,000 on the primetime season finale by conquering the game, which involves determining if five small prizes are higher or lower than the price displayed beneath them.
The contestant races against a 35-second clock to press a button beneath each prize’s price as their seat moves down the line on Hot Seat.
Once the time is up or a contestant is satisfied with their answers, Drew reveals the correct guesses, and the cash prize increases with each correct answer.
Contestants can walk away with their accumulated cash before each additional reveal, just in case they’re nervous they might have messed up.
The Price Is Right at Night Finale Season Finale Schedule
Based on the sneak peek, host Drew Carey is joined by multiple co-stars in the finale, including announcer George Gray and models Rachel Reynolds and James Lancaster, for the nighttime installment of the game show.
I’m particularly intrigued to see if the contestant can pull off the impressive feat of winning both cars in a challenge similar to that on a mini-golf course, and if the other walks away with $200,000, or settles for less.
CBS aired The Price Is Right at Night’s penultimate episode on Monday, May 12, delighting viewers as contestants could win more significant prizes than in the daytime version.
The primetime finale originally airs on CBS on Monday, May 19, in the 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time slot after The Night, and on-demand streaming is available for subscribers through the Paramount+ streaming platform.
Let us know if you think The Price Is Right’s evolution continues to impress with these upgraded games and prizes, or should they do more to keep this classic game show from becoming stale?
