2NE1’s Park Bom stepping away from group activities temporarily to focus on health

2NE1‘s Park Bom is stepping away from group activities for the time being to focus on her health.
The news was announced by the K-pop musician’s agency D-Nation yesterday (August 6). They wrote in their statement: “We would like to inform you that Park Bom will not be able to participate in 2NE1’s upcoming activities. Since many fans have been sending their support for 2NE1’s full-group activities, it is with a heavy heart that we deliver this news.”
“Since medical staff recently advised that she needs sufficient rest and stability, we reached this unavoidable decision after careful discussion.”
The agency added: “We ask for your warm encouragement so that Park Bom can recover well. We also kindly ask for your support for Sandara Park, CL, and Minzy, who will be doing their utmost to ensure Park Bom’s absence is not felt.”

It is currently unclear when Park Bom will return to perform with the rest of 2NE1.
As a result, 2NE1 will be moving forward with their remaining live dates as a three-piece for the time being.
This marks the latest instance of Park Bom having to take time off from the group due to her health. Earlier this year, the singer announced that she would be going on hiatus for the sake of her mental health. She later rejoined the group for a pair of shows in South Korea in April.
2NE1 made their debut in 2009 under YG Entertainment, and later became one of the most successful second-generation K-pop acts. They released a slew of hits throughout their career, including ‘Fire’, ‘I Am The Best’, ‘Come Back Home’ and many others.
