'Alien: Earth' Explains a 13-Year-Old Plot Hole Introduced by 'Prometheus'
Alien: Earth has finally arrived on FX, and it has lived up to the franchise legacy. After a rough go with multiple misfires, the Alien franchise is back on track thanks to 2024's surprise hit Alien: Romulus and now Alien: Earth. Before Alien: Earth debuted, many wondered how the series itself would fit within the timeline of the franchise, as the knowledge of Xenomorphs on Earth would seemingly contradict the prior films, where the Xenomorphs are a mystery to everyone. Meanwhile, many wondered how it would fit into Ridley Scott's controversial prequel films, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, and if it would attempt to tie up loose ends left by the cancellation of the planned third film.
