All confirmed ‘LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’ playable characters

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was one of the biggest announcements from Gamescom 2025, and it is changing up a lot for the LEGO series, including how it approaches playable characters.
Here’s a full breakdown of all the playable characters we know will appear in DC’s latest LEGO game.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will only feature one main playable character: Batman himself. This is not a game with several different characters to choose from. However, you will be able to play with several partner characters as sidekicks. The announced characters so far are: Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul.
This is a major shift for the series, which has always sold itself on the fact that you can play as hundreds of characters from some of the biggest franchises around. But, Legacy of the Dark Knight is focused on chronicling the best and biggest moments from a character’s career, from Bruce Wayne’s origin to becoming The Dark Knight.
So, it makes sense to focus the game’s combat, exploration, and customisation options on him and him only. We have yet to see what those partner characters look like and what functionality they will have. However, after the positive response to the game at Gamescom 2025, we should expect to see and hear more from WB Games before the end of the year.
We will have even more on the game as we get closer to launch, so be sure to stay tuned. For even more on Gamescom, check out our roundup of all the announcements during Opening Night Live. It was a stacked show with a lot of exciting games releasing in 2026 or later this year, so it is worth catching up.
