Bruce Springsteen confirms electric version of ‘Nebraska’ does in fact exist

Bruce Springsteen has confirmed the existence of an electric version of ‘Nebraska’.
The singer-songwriter is set to release seven never-heard-before records next Friday (June 27) as part of a new compilation, titled ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’. It’ll contain 83 songs that were written across his expansive career.
He recently revealed that ‘Tracks III’ was already finished, and would feature five lost albums. However, in a new interview with Rolling Stone, The Boss explained that this would not be the case.
“No, there are no complete albums,” he told the outlet. “This is all music from different points in my work life that I’ve made, some with the band, without the band, some that go way back.”
Springsteen continued: “At that point, the vault will be not completely empty, but virtually empty. There will be really not more, which I’m sort of excited about doing, finally getting all the music that I have and have recorded out to my fans.”
The musician was also asked if the “mythical” full-band version of his seminal 1982 album ‘Nebraska’ was real, to which he responded: “Well, I can tell you right now, it doesn’t exist.”
He made the classic, lo-fi LP on a four-track recorder in his bedroom. The Boss’ E Street Band made full-band versions of those songs, but he wasn’t satisfied with them. He instead released his solo demos as the official version.
Springsteen went on: “We tried to do a few songs with the band for a few minor electric versions of ‘Nebraska’, maybe something else, I’m not sure. But that record simply doesn’t exist. There is no electric ‘Nebraska’ outside of what you hear us performing onstage.”
He then insisted that “there’s nothing in our vault that would amount to an electric ‘Nebraska'”.
But the singer-songwriter is said to have texted the Rolling Stone interviewer a month after the pair first spoke to correct himself.
“Just wanted to give you a heads-up,” he wrote. “I checked our vault and there IS an electric ‘Nebraska’ record though it does not have the full album of songs. All best, Bruce.”
Earlier this week, the first trailer for the highly anticipated Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere was shared, giving fans a first look at The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as the legendary artist (watch above).
The film, directed by Scott Cooper, chronicles the New Jersey star’s journey to recording ‘Nebraska’. It is scheduled for release on October 24. Springsteen has said that the forthcoming movie depicts “some of the most painful days of my life”.
Meanwhile, Springsteen made headlines recently after calling President Donald Trump’s administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous” at his show in Manchester. This led to Trump describing him as a “dried out ‘prune’” who “ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the country”.
The Boss would later earn support from Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, Tom Morello and Bono for his on-stage remarks about the POTUS.
Springsteen also released a live EP, ‘Land Of Hope And Dreams’, from the opening night of his current UK and European tour – which includes his speeches heavily criticising the Trump administration.
He has since hit out at “moron” Trump again amid the “disgusting” ICE raids.
