Chris Evans Addresses His 'Avengers: Doomsday' Absence (But Is He Lying?)

Avengers: Doomsday is bringing back several of the core Avengers cast (with one even playing a brand-new character), but Chris Evans won't get to join his former MCU buddies. The actor first played Steve Rogers/Captain America in the aptly titled Captain America: The First Avenger back in 2011. Evans brought his MCU tenure to a close with Avengers: Endgame in 2019, and, so far, he has yet to return as the First Avenger. Chris Evans' name was notably absent from Marvel Studios' recent Doomsday casting video, and the actor said he is "sad" he was left out. But, fans aren't buying the lack of casting.
