Does ‘Thunderbolts*’ have a post-credit scene?

Thunderbolts* is the final film in Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – but does it have a post-credit scene? Read on to find out.
Directed by Jake Schreier (Beef), the superhero film sees a group of misfit antiheroes caught in a deadly trap and forced to work together on a dangerous mission.
The ensemble cast includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegre de Fontaine.
Thunderbolts* is set to be released in cinemas worldwide on Thursday (May 1).
In a four-star review of the film, NME wrote: “By the end, even the clunky-looking asterisk in the film’s title makes sense. Thunderbolts* doesn’t so much reinvent the wheel as remember what put the wheels on this bandwagon in the first place: an epic blend of thrills, spills and psychological ills. It’s the most fun the MCU’s been in years.”
Does Thunderbolts* have a post-credit scene?
As is traditional in the MCU, nobody will be leaving the theatre until the credits of Thunderbolts* stop rolling. With some fan screenings now having taken place ahead of its full cinematic release, details of the mid-credits and post-credits scenes have now surfaced online.
The mid-credits scene is a playful skit in which Red Guardian trying to convince a woman in a grocery store to buy a box of cereal with the Thunderbolts team printed on it. The woman takes the box and walks away, before placing it on the floor and running out of sight.
The more significant developments come in the post-credits scene, in which the Thunderbolts team are in their new base, 14 months after the conclusion of the film. We see them discussing the fact that Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is suing them for calling themselves ‘The Avengers’ and as they discuss possible alternate monikers, a ship enters their atmosphere bearing the logo of The Fantastic Four.
The interaction between the two superhero teams hints at next year’s Avengers: Doomsday, which is released in May 2026. That film is expected to unite the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, the Wakandans and the Avengers in a fight against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Before then, The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives on July 25.
