Edgar Wright's 'The Running Man' Is Closer To Stephen King Novel Than Arnold Schwarzenegger Film
Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1987 cult classic is getting a revamp for 2025. Directed by Starsky actor Paul Michael Glaser, the '80s action sci-fi film The Running Mansaw Schwarzenegger assume the role of afalsely convicted police officer who attempts to gain his freedom by participating in a violent game show. Extremely '80s, but not very faithful to its source material, the beloved Stephen King book of the same name. Published in 1982 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, King's story has yet to be seen on screen. However, now in 2025, the year the dystopian book was originally set in, it has been confirmed that Baby Driver director Edgar Wright is putting his spin on the book for modern movie audiences.
