'Elden Ring' Director Shares His Obssessive Levels of Research for the Live-Action Movie
A24's live-action Elden Ring movie is one of the most anticipated video game adaptations currently in the works. Civil War and Warfare director, Alex Garland, is helming the adaptation of FromSoftware's bonkers and incredibly difficult video game (which was co-written by Game of Thrones' George R.R. Martin). Oftentimes, directors of video game adaptations might not have prior knowledge of the IP, and might play through the game once for research purposes. Sometimes, they don't even do that. But Garland is setting a new standard for video game movie research, and fans will be incredibly happy to hear how dedicated he is to the project.
