Lucius Malfoy actor Jason Isaacs has revealed why the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secretsdidn't include one of the most popular moments from the book. Director Chris Columbus and the team behind the sequel erased a fan-favorite scene from J.K. Rowling's wizarding series for the big-screen adaptation, but they couldn't obliviate it from people's memories, as many had hoped to see the interaction play out on screen. Isaacs explained that the reason for its exclusion was actually to benefit the audience.
