His co-star, Colton Dunn, who played Garrett McNeil on the show, first shared news about the actor's death in a heartwarming social media post. In the comments, other cast members gathered to remember their friend and send condolences to Jon's family. Although no official statement from the actor's family has been released at time of writing, his middle daughter, Pennie Cappasola, confirmed to PEOPLE that her father died on Wednesday, August 6, and his wife was by his side. His cause of death hasn't been revealed, but Cappasola told the publication that Miyahara loved working on the NBC series. He was 83.
