Katy Perry show interrupted by fan who stormed stage in Sydney

Katy Perry‘s show in Sydney was interrupted by a fan who stormed the stage.

The popstar recently performed a huge show at the Qudos Bank Arena, where Perry is in the midst of her ‘Lifetimes’ 2025 world tour.

Whilst performing her 2008 smash hit ‘Hot N Cold’, however, Perry was ambushed on stage by a fan, who proceeded to wrap his arm around her. The fan then began to floss on stage as Perry moved away, proclaiming: “There’s never going to be another show like this so just enjoy it!”

The security guards eventually caught the fan, and escorted him off the stage. However, it took the guards quite a while, prompting Perry to respond mid-song: “What the hell is going on?!”

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the fan in question was Johnson Wen, who frequently invades stages for his TikTok account, @pyjamamann. He has previously interrupted The Weeknd‘s show in Melbourne and The Chainsmokers’ set at Palm Tree Festival in Sydney last year.

The publication also confirmed NSW Police had arrested Wen and charged him with “entering enclosed land and obstructing a person in performance of work or duties”. Wen was then granted conditional bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court on June 23. He has also been banned from the Sydney Olympic Park precinct for six months.

Perry is currently touring her album ‘143‘, which she dropped last year. NME gave the project two stars, calling it “a serviceable but slightly dull collection on which Perry struggles to relocate her old sense of fun.”

The singer sparked controversy when she travelled to space to reveal the ‘Lifetimes’ tour setlist last April. Social media branded the flight as “wealth tourism”, and the trip garnered criticism from the likes of Emily Ratjakowski, who said she was “disgusted” by the flight, along with food chain Wendy’s.

Lily Allen also slammed the space mission as “out of touch”, but later walked back her comments, admitting her comments were “mean” and due to “my own internalised misogyny”.

Perry will soon play the UK leg of the ‘Lifetimes’ tour, which kicks off in October. She will follow in the footsteps of ColdplayEnter Shikari and Sam Fender by donating £1 of every ticket to the Music Venue Trust – a government-backed scheme to help keep grassroots venues alive.
