Over the weekend, Pendulum played a show at the Milton Keynes National Bowl. Next month, they’ll head out for a run of UK record store dates to mark the release of ‘Inertia’. The long-awaited album follows 2010’s ‘Immersion’.

Produced by frontman Rob Swire and Owen Charles, and recorded at Pendulum’s London studio, the record is described as the band’s most personal release to date. They recently released an explosive new single, ‘Cannibal’, featuring Wargasm from the LP.

The album also features collaborations with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, AWOLNATIONScarlxrdJoey Valance & Brae and Hybrid Minds. In May, Pendulum shared the lead single ‘Save The Cat’.

“It’s the sound of Pendulum finding themselves again, and me figuring myself out to a certain extent,” Swire explained of ‘Inertia’. “Breakups do that – they strip things down and show you who you are. I’m just trying not to become the guy who needs to go through one just to make a record.”

Back in 2020, the frontman spoke to NME about what it was like for Pendulum to make a comeback after disbanding in 2012, and how it felt to be making new material.

“It’s not an easy thing to go away for 10 years and then say, ‘Here’s what we sound like now!’,” he said at the time. “People assume that we’ve been working on stuff for 10 years. It’s hard for people to imagine what the progression might be, but we’re happy with it.”
