Prescribing Patience: Why Brilliant Minds’ Wolf & Nichols Reunion Should Take Time

Brilliant Minds’ favorite sexy doctors will return in a month.
However, when we last saw Oliver Wolf and Josh Nichols, their relationship seemed strained, mainly because Oliver’s life fell apart in the Brilliant Minds Season 1 finale.
While Wolf and Nichols are likely endgame, their reunion in Brilliant Minds Season 2 should not be rushed, but instead unfold slowly.
Part of Wolf and Nichols’ appeal was their slow burn. It took half of Brilliant Minds Season 1 before they even kissed and confessed their feelings.
Viewers enjoyed watching these doctors go from rivals to friends to lovers.
They shared some intimate moments and smoldering looks, where we knew how they felt before they admitted it.
Neither of them was prepared for such an intense relationship, and working together complicated matters.
Before, they hadn’t been afraid to disagree, but now that they were together, Nichols felt like Wolf didn’t value his opinion sometimes, and nothing could have been further from the truth.
They were so adorable when Wolf admitted he respected Nichols, which is why they disagreed.
Nichols’ fear came back to haunt him in the finale, though, when he bared his soul, revealing how he was falling for Wolf, and he turned away shortly after because his dad reappeared, invading his perfect life.
Wolf’s life changed drastically within minutes, and he no longer knew whom to trust.
While perhaps he should have seen Nichols as a lifeline, he wasn’t thinking straight.
But Nichols only knew that Wolf stood him up on one of the biggest nights of his life – when he was being honored at the gala.
It will take time to come back from that. He will likely understand that Wolf had been dealing with a shock, but still be hurt that he didn’t turn to him.
That’s the part we’re interested in. We don’t want them to sweep their issues under the rug and instantly reconnect.
We’ve seen social media and event photos and know that Zachary Quinto and Teddy Sears are filming together.
That gives us hope that the series doesn’t keep them apart too long, and they’re still orbiting each other.
Wolf and Nichols need to discuss their issues, especially why Wolf wants to run when things become difficult.
It’s likely a trait he developed from his father, the other ghost they’ll need to conquer together. If Wolf is going to learn more about Noah’s mysterious condition, he’ll need Nichols’ help.
We’ll see how strong their relationship is if they can tackle this case and Wolf’s dysfunctional family together.
EP Michael Grassi teased that the couple would connect more in Brilliant Minds Season 2, and we’re looking forward to that, both personally and professionally.
Remember, happy couples often get sidelined on television.
However, drama makes entertaining television, and there is a lot more story for these two on the road to reconciliation.
Over to you, Brilliant Minds Fanatics. Are you patient enough to watch the long game and Wolf and Nichols’ reconciliation unfold, or would you prefer they make up quickly?
