Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin and Busta Rhymes have been confirmed to perform at the 2025 MTV VMAs next month.

Ricky Martin, Alex Warren, DJ Snake and Sombr will also take to the stage at the UBS Arena, in New York on September 7.

Martin is set to receive the first-ever Latin Icon Award while Rhymes will be honoured with the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award. LL Cool J will also host this year’s show.

It comes as Carpenter, who is nominated for a host of awards including Video Of The Year, prepares to release her new album ‘Man’s Best Friend‘ on August 29.

It was also recently revealed that she is set to appear on the title track for Taylor Swift‘s forthcoming album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, which is out on October 3.

This year’s nominations are led by Lady Gaga, with 12 nods while Her ‘Die With A Smile’ collaborator Bruno Mars comes in a close second with 11 nominations and Kendrick Lamar has 10. They are they only artists with double-digit nominations this year.

BLACKPINK‘s Rosé has eight nods this year – all for ‘Apt.’ Additionally, the VMAs are introducing two new categories this year: Best Pop Artist and Best Country.

The coveted Video Of The Year award is being contested between Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, Rosé & Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, and The Weeknd & Playboi Carti.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd are battling it out for Artist Of The Year. You can view all the nominees here.

Taylor Swift swept the 2024 VMAs, taking home seven of the 10 awards she was up for, including Video Of The Year for ‘Fortnight’, Song Of The Summer, Best Pop, Best Collaboration and more. She also became the first-ever artist to win Video Of The Year three years in a row.
