Sharpen Your Knives, Cousins, The Bear Has a Premiere Date (And Yes, It’s a Binge)

The good news is that The Bear will be debuting in just about the blink of an eye.

Keeping in line with its previous premiere dates, The Bear is coming at us hot just this summer, and it’s cooking up a fourth season that’ll have us buzzing (if only for a short burst of time).

Yes, to some of our chagrin, The Bear still isn’t interested in the art of slow burn and savoring.

Despite it being peak water cooler content, we’ll all have to scramble like eggs to binge the season in its entirety in a timely fashion to avoid spoilers.

But such is the way of the Hulu binge format.

We can expect to devour The Bear Season 4 in its entirety on June 24.

Yes, the best way to get through Hump Day is knowing that by 8/7c, Hulu will drop the full season.

We can stay up late, burying ourselves in the highly stressful world of Carmy Berzatto as he continues to turn The Bear into a fine-dining culinary experience that will leave Chicago in awe amid a period of industry upheaval.

The Emmy-Award-winning dramedy ups the steaks, well, stakes, in the fourth season, as Hulu releases a synopsis of what to expect in another adrenaline-fueled but emotional ten-episode season.

The synopsis teases that “with new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust, and overcome.”

“This season, the pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better — it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to,” it continues.

It raises some questions about what could be in store for the restaurant and all of its characters.

As we know, the restaurant suffered a blow after a potentially unfavorable review, and Carmy cannot take it lightly.

But more concerning in this is Sydney, and where she could land after The Bear Season 3.

The season saw this power duo at its most fractured, mostly because Syd felt undervalued, unheard, and as if she wasn’t really Carmy’s partner in their mutual venture.

With other opportunities lingering on the fringes and her having to reevaluate things, it’s possible that, of the characters deciphering what’s “worth holding on to,” Sydney could be trying to figure out if it’s worth it for her to continue tying herself to Carmy and the restaurant.

Shapiro’s offer is potentially too good to pass up, and let’s face it, things with her and Carmy are complicated at best.

They only promise to be more complex as Carmy reels from the interaction with his previous mentor and tormentor, who still lives rent-free in his head and influences everything that Carmy does.

It poses a reckoning among the characters and the bear, and so much is at stake, especially with the mixed reviews and Uncle Jimmy breathing down their necks.

Production of the fourth season immediately followed the third, and the cliffhanger felt like the season was broken into two parts, and they only graced us with the first part. Thus, the fourth season is truly an extension of the third.

Ironically, it makes the year in between getting to binge both more excruciating than ever, but that’s what rewatching the third season ahead of the premiere is for, right?

The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White, AyoEdebiri, Moss-Barhrach, Season 4 also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson.

Chicago Med’s Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon star in recurring roles.
