Steven Spielberg Believes Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune 2' Is an All-Time Great
When we refer to a film as a "classic," we typically mean a film that came out several decades ago. However, legendary director Steven Spielbergrecently all but bestowed that moniker on a movie that came out just last year: Denis Villeneuve's blockbuster sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two(2024), the follow-up to his 2021 film Dune, both of which are based on Frank Herbert's seminal novel of the same name. On an episode of the Directors Guild of America's podcast The Director's Cut, Spielberg told Villeneuve that Dune: Part Two was "one of the most brilliant science fiction films I have ever seen."
