A few months ago, we reported a very special piece of news. For the first time in decades, fans of the Star Wars franchise were going to be treated to something unique. Those fortunate enough to live in London could buy tickets to see an original cut of Star Wars, the way audiences saw it in 1977. The one-night-only event took place yesterday at the BFI Southbank, and those afraid that the British Film Institute would do it without the approval of George Lucas were wrong. He was aware, and to prove it, he actually sent someone along to legitimize the screening.
