In May, Kneecap’s scheduled slot at TRNSMT 2025 was cancelled over “safety concerns”, leading the Irish trio to announce a replacement show in Glasgow. This followed member Mo Chara being charged with a terror offence by the Metropolitan Police.
The Scottish gig took place last night (July 8) at the O2 Academy Glasgow. During the performance, Kneecap hit out at the First Minister of Scotland, John Swinney, and addressed being dropped from the TRNSMT line-up.
Ahead of yesterday’s concert, Police Scotland said in a statement that it had a “proportionate and considered policing plan” in place for the event, “to ensure the safety of all those attending”.
Meanwhile, TRNSMT 2025 headliners Biffy Clyro have announced their new album ‘Futique’ and shared its lead single, ‘A Little Love’. The band recently played a major slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
Reviewing the set, NME wrote:” A new era of The Biff awaits, as seen in the LCD Soundsystem dancey piano stabs of recent single and set opener ‘A Little Love’. Its mantra of unity and call for togetherness makes a lot more sense here at Worthy Farm, where you’re only a nod away from a hug at any given time.”
