Xbox Game Pass will lose a beloved blockbuster at the end of August

Microsoft has confirmed a handful of titles that are set to leave Xbox Game Pass at the end of the month including a beloved blockbuster.
Games are regularly added and removed from the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, with the departures taking place in the middle and at the end of every month.
August has already seen Persona 3 leave Xbox Game Pass alongside Anthem and Farming Simulator 22 but Microsoft has now announced five more games will be removed in the near future.
The biggest departure is Borderlands 3, which will leave Xbox Game Pass on August 31. It comes as the sequel is set to launch September 12. As it stands, there are no plans for Borderlands 4 to launch on Xbox Game Pass.
The titles leaving Xbox Game Pass this August are:
Sea of Stars
Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition
This War of Mine: Final Cut
Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay
Ben 10: Power Trip
Eleven new titles have been added to Xbox Game Pass already this August with Gears Of War: Reloaded set to join on August 29. Normally Microsoft would have confirmed a second wave of additions for the service but with Gamescom taking place this week, it might be saving the news for then.
As well as a booth at the gaming convention, Xbox has also confirmed a pair of livestream presentations set to take place tomorrow (August 20) and Thursday (August 21) and feature news on the handheld Xbox ROG Ally, Cronos: The New Dawn, Grounded 2 and many more titles.
Microsoft has also confirmed the full reveal of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 will take place tonight during the Opening Night Live showcase. Ahead of the reveal, a number of fake cover stories and threatening billboards promoting mysterious tech company The Guild have been spotted across the globe.
In other news, it’s been revealed that the best-selling game of 2025 in Europe is EA Sports FC 25, which actually launched last September. Out of the twenty games in the list, only eight were actually released this year.
