Box Office Round-Up: 'Final Destination Bloodlines' Denthrones 'Thunderbolts*'
Final Destination Bloodlines dropped in theaters at precisely the right moment to scare up business and become a dominant force at the box office. The horror film’s triumphant debut came perfectly sandwiched between the Thunderbolts* theatrical release and the arrival of two of the summer’s most anticipated blockbusters, Lilo & Stitch and Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning. So, as a result, Bloodlines didn’t have any genuine competition, which led to the movie not only notching the top spot at the box office with an estimated $51 million domestically, but the frightening flick also set a franchise record in the process.
