Bruce Springsteen confirms ‘Tracks III’ is finished with another five lost albums on the way

Bruce Springsteen has shared that he has even more unreleased material on the way, which comprises five never-before-heard albums.

It comes as the legendary singer, songwriter and guitarist is preparing to release seven never-heard-before records later this month as part of a compilation dubbed ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’. 

It will be released on June 27 and features 83 songs that were written across his expansive career – all offering an insight into his life and work as an artist.

While it was assumed that the huge box set would have seen The Boss clear out his vault of unreleased material, a new interview has seen him confirm that there is still more to come.

Speaking to The New York Times, Springsteen revealed that he has already finished another impressive batch of previously unheard material – something he will be aptly calling ‘Tracks III’.

In keeping with the structure of ‘Tracks II’, the layout of the project won’t be a jumble of unreleased songs, but rather full, complete albums that previously didn’t make the light of day. “[There are] five full albums of music,” he told the outlet, adding that it will be that release that will see him pretty much clear out his vault.

“There was a lot of good music left,” he added, before sharing that the material in ‘Tracks III’ will date back to the same time he shared his 1973 debut ‘Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.’, all the way up to 2024.

As for why it was vital for him to share the ‘lost’ material as the full albums, he said it was because a record “is exactly what it says it is. It is a record of who you are and where you were at that moment in your life.”

“These were actual albums that were of a piece, of a moment, of a genre — that fell together, often while working on other albums,” he added. A release date for ‘Tracks III’ has not been shared.

One of the songs that features in the ‘Tracks II’ bundle is called ‘Blind Spot’, and was listed as the opening track to his currently unheard ‘Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions’. Although that project was fully completed and slated for a spring 1995 release, it was ultimately put to one side as The Boss reunited with The E Street Band for the first time in seven years.

Another collection featured in the project is described as a lo-fi exploration of the ‘LA Garage Sessions ’83’, and will serve as a link between 1982’s ‘Nebraska’ and 1984’s ‘Born in the USA.’

Aside from the huge compilation of all 83 songs, there will also be a shorter album shared called ‘Lost And Found: Selections From The Lost Albums’ which will feature 20 highlights from across the collection. Visit here to pre-order both releases.

The news of upcoming music from the ‘Born In The USA’ singer comes following the BBC commemorating the 50th anniversary of his first UK concert with a series of programmes.

On top of that, Springsteen also made headlines this year after using his show in Manchester to call Donald Trump’s administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous” – a move which led to the President describing him as a “dried out ‘prune’” who “ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.” The Boss would later get backing from Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, Tom Morello and Bono for his on-stage comments.

Earlier today (June 18), the first trailer for his highly anticipated biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere was shared, giving fans a first look at The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as the legendary musician. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on October 24.
