BTS’ Jin announces sophomore solo album ‘Echo’

BTS singer Jin has officially announced his much-anticipated second solo record, titled ‘Echo’, due out in May.
Today (April 15), BTS’ Jin and his label, Big Hit Music, announced details for the K-pop star’s second solo album, titled ‘Echo’. The label also revealed that the record will contain seven new tracks and will be largely based on band music, in similar fashion to his previous album, ‘Happy’.
The label told press that Jin’s album is set to “capture the various moments of life spreading out like ‘echoes’ in different forms”, adding that it tells “stories and emotions that anyone can experience at least once in their life, from Jin’s perspective, in a simple yet witty way”.
‘Echo’ is due out on May 16 at 1pm KST. More details are expected to be announced soon.

‘Echo’ is slated to arrive about six months since he dropped his debut solo project ‘Happy’ in November last year. The record featured the single ‘I’ll Be There’ as well as title track ‘Running Wild’.
‘Happy’ received a glowing four-star review from NME’s Rhian Daly, who called it a record that “softly envelopes you in feelings of cheerfulness, kicking the worries of the world aside for just under 20 minutes, Jin effortlessly taking on the role of conductor of joy”.
The singer first made his solo debut in late 2022 with single ‘The Astronaut’, which was co-written by Coldplay, shortly before he enlisted for mandatory military service. Jin was officially discharged from service in June last year.
