Does ‘Elden Ring Nightreign’ have a story?

Elden Ring Nightreign breaks a lot of FromSoftware’s traditions. However, one aspect of the game that is familiar is the vague lore and narrative. Because it is focused on gameplay, the narrative takes a backseat, and you have to piece together clues and complete tasks for each character to discover why they have been summoned to the Roundtable Hold.
Here is a rundown of how it works.
Elden Ring Nightreign does have a story. However, it is only told through a few main cutscenes. The rest of the information has to be deciphered from lore in-game and subtle hints in the environment. Additionally, the individual character stories have to be read through Remembrances, which are manually activated.
While playing, only one player in your party can have a remembrance active as matchmaking. You will then be asked to complete a task in the Roundtable Hold or in Limveld itself to enter the next stage of the character’s remembrance.
Ultimately, the game’s story reveals the truth behind The Night’s Tide rain and why everyone has been summoned to the Roundtable Hold, and what is causing these worlds to collide and come together. This can be seen in Dark Souls references, which are found throughout the game, from bosses to character outfits and skins.
Hopefully, as the game is supported, we will see this lore expanded upon, as it is a great foundation. The game has already sold two million copies since launch, so we can expect some DLC down the line.
