The new Stephen King adaptation The Life Of Chuck is in cinemas now, but what songs are on the soundtrack? Read the full list below.

The film is based on King’s 2020 novella, first released as part of the compilation If It Bleeds, and it tells the story of accountant and dance-lover Chuck Krantz’s life in reverse chronological order.

It is written for the screen and directed by Mike Flanagan, best known for his work on horror films such as Oculus and Doctor Sleep, and stars Tom Hiddleston in the title role.

Jacob Tremblay (Room, Wonder) plays the teenage Chuck, while Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Mark Hamill and Nick Offerman are also among the cast. Watch the trailer here:

It is Flanagan’s third time adapting the work of King, after Doctor Sleep in 2019, which was based on the sequel to The Shining, and 2017’s psychological thriller Gerald’s Game.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024 and saw a wide release in the US in June. Its UK cinematic release was on August 20.

NME recently spoke to Hiddleston about his love of music, including his former ‘Song Of The Day’ Twitter series. Speaking about Bob Dylan, he said: ““In my 20s, I just started listening to his songs and to his lyrics [and it just clicked]. I guess I had to be a little bit older. I think he’s just the master. And that song is probably his most famous but it’s so beautiful. Those lyrics are eternal.”

The film includes an original score by The Newton Brothers, who are longtime collaborators with Flanagan. On top of that, there are several significant needle-drop moments, including tracks by The Spencer Davis Group and The Knack.
