Here’s the weather forecast for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s final gig in Birmingham

Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne are set to play their final ever live shows this weekend – but how is the weather looking for the historic Birmingham event? Check out the latest forecast below.

The legendary metal band will bow out with a massive gig at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham this Saturday (July 5), dubbed ‘Back To The Beginning’. It’ll see frontman Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward perform onstage together for the first time in two decades.

They’ll be joined by a stacked, star-studded line-up, which boasts the likes of Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan, Guns N’ Roses, KoRn, Tool, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and the surviving members of Soundgarden.

Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello will serve as musical director for the concert, which is being live-streamed around the globe.

Those who were lucky enough to bag tickets can expect doors to open at 11am BST, with the event set to run until 10:30pm. See the latest weather forecast for the full day below (via BBC Weather).

It is currently predicted that Sabbath fans will see temperatures peak at 22°C, with lows of 14°C. Throughout the day, there’ll be some light rain showers and a gentle to moderate breeze.

When gates open at 11am, ticketholders are likely to be welcomed by some thick cloud coverage and a gentle breeze, along with a temperature of 19°C. This will rise to the low 20s, before dipping to 18°C at 10pm.

The chance of light rain showers ranges between eight per cent and 34 per cent over the day. The highest figure comes at 5pm, though there is a 0 to eight per cent chance of rain predicted for the final portion of the show (between 10pm and 11pm).

Meanwhile, Black Sabbath’s last concert is set to boost Birmingham’s economy by a whopping £20million, according to reports. In other news, the metal icons have been given the freedom of the city of Birmingham ahead of the event.

Last week saw Sabbath share a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for ‘Back To The Beginning’ with a photograph from rehearsals.

Earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne told NME that Ozzy’s battle with Parkinson’s “doesn’t affect his voice”. “He wants to say thank you to everybody,” she explained at Villa Park. “He didn’t have that chance because of his illness, but now he does have the chance.”

Sharon said her husband was doing “really great” at the time. She told NME that Ozzy was feeling “very emotional” about the final Sabbath set, and that it was “what he wants”.

Iommi then said that the event would “do [Ozzy] good”, telling us: “That’s what it’s all about: he wants to get out and do something.”

Ozzy has told fans he is “giving 120 per cent” as he prepares for his final performances at the gig. “If my God wants me to do the show, I’ll do it,” he said, having previously looked ahead to playing the concert in good health.

“I’ll be there, and I’ll do the best I can,” he promised. “So all I can do is turn up.” He suggested that he “may be sitting down” on stage, following reports that he’d be performing from a “throne that flies over the stadium”.
