Hozier cancels tour dates over illness after “struggling” through Governors Ball

Hozier has cancelled some of his tour dates due to illness. Find out the details below.
The announcement comes as the singer-songwriter was seen visibly struggling during his headline set at this year’s edition of Governors Ball in New York City, sharing with the audience that he had been battling a virus.
During the performance, Hozier had a few moments where his voice cracked. “For anybody who has never seen me before, I promise I sound at least five per cent better on average,” he said before announcing that he and his bandmates were under the weather. “I am haunted – I am stricken – by the spectre of puberty one more time.”
Now, it seems that things may have worsened as he shared on Monday (June 9) that his upcoming shows in Camden, New Jersey (June 10) and Ridgedale, Missouri (June 11) had been pushed back.
He explained to fans that the decision was made “due to illness”, and confirmed that the show at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in New Jersey would now be held on July 15, while the latter date at the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena will be rescheduled for July 22.
“All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new dates. Ticket holders will receive additional information via email,” the update read, with Hozier apologising for “any inconvenience this may cause”.
Thank you to @GovBallNYC for having me last night and to the crowd in NYC for being so kind while I struggled through this virus. You gave me such a lift, so much love

Shortly after the appearance at Gov Ball, the Irish singer-songwriter thanked fans in NYC for their patience with him as he wasn’t on top form during the set. “Thank you to @GovBallNYC for having me last night and to the crowd in NYC for being so kind while I struggled through this virus,” he wrote, posting photos from the show. “You gave me such a lift.”
Hozier’s latest release was the surprise ‘Unheard EP’ last year. The EP featured four previously unreleased songs, all of which were recorded during the sessions for ‘Unreal Unearth’.
As well as playing numerous US dates in 2025, the singer will also be headlining this year’s edition of Reading & Leeds. Visit here for remaining tickets.
In the time since his last release, Hozier featured on Lucy Dacus’ fourth album ‘Forever Is A Feeling’, and will also be making an appearance on the latest Barbra Streisand LP. In March, he also announced a special reissue of his debut self-titled album in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
