Lil Nas X has spoken out about the “terrifying” experience of being arrested and facing felony charges.

The incident took place on Thursday (August 21), when the ‘Old Town Road’ rapper was reported as being spotted walking down the street in his underwear in Studio City in the early morning hours.

The Los Angeles Police Department was called out and when officers attempted to approach him, the rapper allegedly charged at them. He was placed in handcuffs and escorted to hospital to be treated for a possible overdose.

There were also reports, shared by TMZ, that the artist (real name Montero Lamar Hill) was seen speaking incoherently as he wandered the streets around his home.

The rapper remained behind bars over the weekend, with LAPD having cited a law concerning resisting or obstructing an officer, and at the start of this week (August 25), the singer was charged with three counts of battery against a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer.

His bail was set at £75,000 (£55,460) and he pleaded not guilty to all charges. The case will now move to pretrial on September 15 and the judge has ordered him to attend an outpatient drug rehabilitation programme according to Reuters.

Lil Nas X is out on bail and speaking about his ordeal over the weekend. Early last Thursday morning, Lil Nas X was arrested for battery of a police officer after he was found wandering naked on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles, muttering to himself and at one point putting a traffic cone on his head. Police suspected he was on drugs and he was hospitalized after an altercation with them. The “Old Town Road” rapper spent the weekend in jail and yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court was charged with four felonies. He is potentially facing years in prison. Lil Nas X (real name Montero Hill) pled not guilty to three counts of battery with injury on a police officer, along with one felony charge of resisting an executive officer. His bail was set at $75,000 and he’s been ordered to enroll in a narcotics outpatient program. According to ‘Reuters,’ Nas’ attorney Christy O’Connor said the singer was not taking illegal drugs and that “the episode was an aberration in his life.” #LilNasX

Now, Hill has shared an update with fans, sharing that he is physically and mentally OK but still shaken by the whole ordeal.

“Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all. OK? Shit’s gonna be all right, shit’s gonna be all right,” he said, speaking to the camera and posting the video on Instagram Stories. “Shit! That was fucking terrifying. That was terrifying! That was a terrifying last four days, but your girl is gonna be all right.”

The incident came just days after Lil Nas X deleted his Instagram history and renamed his account ‘QUEEN MADELINE’. He had also posted a number of images of artwork and shared clips of what seems to be new music.

Earlier this spring, he suffered partial paralysis in the right side of his face, explaining online that he had “lost control” of some muscles. A few days later, he said he had regained some of the lost movement, telling fans that he had been instructed to chew gum to strengthen his muscles.

In March, he released the ‘Days Before Dreamboy’ EP, which was intended to be the latest step of a new album campaign. The album ‘DREAMBOY’ had been predicted for a 2025 release, although no date has been confirmed. When it does drop, it will be his first full-length album since his 2021 debut ‘Montero’.
