'Lord of the Rings’ Director Joins De-Extinction Craze Wanting to Revive 400-Pound Beasts
Peter Jackson, the Academy Award-winning director of the Lord of the Ringsfantasy series, is entering a territory some scientists would deem dangerous. The filmmaker has teamed up with Colossal Biosciences, the company responsible for the de-extinction of dire wolves last year, in order to bring another creature back to life. As absurd as this sounds after the release of countless Jurassic Park films, they're aiming to revive a centuries-old bird named the moa. Where's Dr. Ian Malcolm when you need him?
