Miley Cyrus has teased that the follow-up to her new album ‘Something Beautiful’ will be “extremely experimental”.

The singer is set to release her ninth studio record this Friday (May 30) via Columbia, following on from 2023’s ‘Endless Summer Vacation’. She has already shared the singles ‘Prelude’‘End Of The World’ and ‘More To Lose’, as well as the title track.

It’ll be accompanied by the ‘Something Beautiful’ film, which is being screened in UK cinemas for one night only. This “visual” version of the album was directed by Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter.

Last night (May 27), the pop star played a brief special live set at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California. According to Billboard, Cyrus personally invited a group of fans to the event – billed as a listening session.

At one point in the evening, Cyrus revealed that ‘Something Beautiful’ was “just the appetiser” for her 10th full-length effort.

“My next album is about to be extremely experimental, so have fun with that,” she told those in attendance.

Cyrus’ sister, Brandi, said earlier: “Her evolution is always a surprise… I have personally seen the passion and precision she pours into every detail … it’s why everything she does is so sickening.”

It is reported that Cyrus played a 45-minute set, including ‘End Of The World’, ‘More To Lose’, ‘Flowers’ and the live debut of ‘Easy Lover’ (watch below). She also delivered a shortened version of her classic hit ‘The Climb’.

Cyrus is credited as an executive producer on ‘Something Beautiful’, alongside Shawn Everett (Kacey MusgravesAlabama Shakes). She previously suggested that the “bold” album would be inspired by Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’, “but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture”.

Meanwhile, Cyrus has shared the full tracklist for her new record, featuring collaborations with model Naomi Campbell, and Alabama Shakes frontwoman and soloist Brittany Howard.

In other news, she has recalled that Harrison Ford talked her out of “performing in the forest” to promote the LP. “That’s why I want to create this [‘Something Beautiful’] film, the film is my way of touring,” Cyrus explained, having previously opened up about her struggles touring.
