'Mortal Kombat II' Writer Says the Highly Anticipated Sequel Is "Funnier" and "Bigger"

Jeremy Slater, the screenwriter known for his work in 2015's Fantastic Four, The Umbrella Academy and Moon Knight, is anxiously awaiting the release of one of his most anticipated projects. Just like fans across the globe, Slater is eager forMortal Kombat II, a sequel to the 2021 reboot that was very successful when streaming on HBO Max. Set for an October 2025 release, Mortal Kombat II will follow the original story and its characters, but it will feature new additions as well. Slater has teased a "funnier and bigger" sequel, and the best thing about it? There will be an actual tournament.
