'Parasite' Director Bong Joon-ho Loves 'Sleep'
The success of the South Korean satirical thriller Parasite(2019) at the 2020 Academy Awards has established its writer and director, Bong Joon-ho, as probably the most recognized and respected South Korean filmmaker among Western audiences. But, as Bong himself would be the first to tell anyone, there is a massive and very diverse array of films and filmmakers to be found in his home country. Fortunately, Bong has been more than willing to praise and call attention to his fellow South Korean filmmakers whenever he gets the chance.
