'Pride & Prejudice' at 20: Hand Flex Gets Bigger Reactions Than 'Minecraft'
Captain America picking up Thor's hammer in Avengers: Endgame. The Rocky theme playing in Creed. Cynthia Erivo hitting that high note during "Defying Gravity" in Wicked. These are just a few small samples of memorable moments from movies that have the audience erupting in cheers. Yet one of the biggest ones I've heard was in 2025 on Easter Sunday when I went to see a re-release screening of Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice, which was celebrating its 20th anniversary.
