Ryan Coogler’s Vampire Horror Movie ‘Sinners’ Has Been Dethroned on HBO Max by ‘A Minecraft Movie'

The streaming charts are an incredibly competitive battleground. More often than not, a deserving movie gets bested by a film that was maligned by critics and most audiences, but has gained a life of its own thanks to social media and memes. That's exactly what's just happened on the battlefield that is HBO Max (formerly Max), as the best horror movie of the year has just been topped by a glorified meme movie. For the past few weeks, Ryan Coogler's Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan and Jack O'Connell, sat proudly atop the streamer's top 10 chart. Since its release on the platform, the vampire horror movie has dominated streaming, with every other film fighting for second and third place. A Minecraft Movie spent multiple weeks in second place. However, the film recently proved that no one can stand up to the immense power of the Chicken Jockey, as it just bested Coogler's vampiric outing for the top spot.
