Ryan Phillippe Reflects on Losing Anakin Skywalker Role in the 'Star Wars' Prequels

Ryan Phillippe is one of those stars who seemed to be everywhere in the late 1990s. After roles in films like I Know What You Did Last Summer, 54 and Cruel Intentions, he proved to be the perfect combination of handsome and talented, and thus a major draw for teen audiences. The obvious next step was entering a major franchise, and the Star Wars prequel trilogy seemed like the perfect choice. Unfortunately, despite feeling that joining a galaxy far, far away would be a dream come true, Phillippe's age proved to be the fatal factor in him becoming franchise icon Anakin Skywalker.
