Sony Offered 'Morbius' Directing Job to 'Eddington' Director Ari Aster
Once upon a time, not so long ago, Sony Pictures attempted to create a cinematic universe based on Spider-Man, without the web-slinger himself. It went as well as Marvel fans expected, with Morbiusquickly becoming one of the most infamous (and worst) superhero movies of all time. If it wasn't already clear that the studio has in over its head with the idea, they tried to hire one of the most unique filmmakers working today to helm the box office flop.
