SZA has hit back at Nicki Minaj questioning how “successful” she is – by claiming Minaj asked her to feature “twice” on her songs.

Today (July 17), tensions between the pair flared once again when Minaj made a quote tweet of a video showing SZA supposedly being ignored by Rihanna at the Met Gala.

“These be the fake girl’s girls who talk shit but will run u down for a photo or do shit like this on camera to pretend they’re not the hater they rlly are,” Minaj wrote. “I wonder what she was lying about to the interviewer. Man it’s so freeing to REALLY be yourself.”

In response, SZA hit back at the rapper by writing: “Nicki . You absolutely know my music and what I contribute cause you’ve asked for features twice to no response”.

SZA provided a screenshot of Minaj asking if SZA wanted to record “this hook I think she would be dope on”, and added: “In addition to rapping my lyrics on feeling myself “Cooking up the bass looking like a kilo”?

It’s the latest development in an ongoing spat between the duo, which began yesterday (July 16) when Minaj accused SZA’s former manager of “bullying” her.

Shortly afterwards, SZA posted: “Mercury retrograde…don’t take the bait lol silly goose”, to which Minaj called her a “liar” and “sounding like a fkng dead dog”. SZA would go on to respond directly to Minaj, writing: “I don’t give a fuck bout none of that weird shit you popping.”

“I get bullied by millions online every day then step my ass out onna packed stadium tour where ppl show me REAL love. IN REAL LIFE,” SZA added, as she’s currently on the Grand National co-headline tour with Kendrick Lamar. “My parents are healthy and I’m the most successful I ever been. GET SOME FUCKING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL!!!”

After SZA concluded the night by writing ““Lmao lemme go back to being calm shy and meek”, Nicki Minaj would go on to insult the singer. Among her many tweets directed at SZA, she asked: “Does SZA think she’s more successful than me?… If every song you’ve ever done vanished right now the music business wouldn’t even miss you”.

In other news, SZA has slammed AI users as “codependent on a machine”: “Please Google how much energy and pollution it takes to run AI”.
