'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 6, Episode 8 Is Channeling 'Game of Thrones'
One of the most shocking scenes from Game of Thrones became known as the Red Wedding. In Season 3, Episode 9, “The Rains of Castamere,” Robb Stark (Richard Madden) and his mother, Catelyn (Michelle Fairley), realize they have been betrayed by Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton) and Walder Frey (David Bradley). The doors at the wedding of Edmure (Tobias Menzies) and Roslin (Alexandra Dowling) are locked, and the Freys attack, killing many members of the Stark family, including Robb, his pregnant wife Talisa (Oona Chaplin), and Catelyn. It was a bloodbath juxtaposed against the crisp white sweetness of a matrimonial ceremony.
