The Hives announce intimate 2025 UK album release shows

The Hives have announced details of intimate album release shows across the UK. Check out the details below.
The new dates come in celebration of their upcoming seventh album, ‘The Hives Forever Forever The Hives’. It is set for release on August 29 and you can visit here to pre-order.
It will serve as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’, which was their first LP in 11 years, and the members announced it via a livestream from Mexico City – describing it as “a new record so full of energy, joy, anger and life that you will be questioning reality as you have known it”.
Now, to celebrate the release, Pelle Almqvist and co. have announced a series of intimate UK shows. These kick off on August 30 with an opening night in Nottingham, and continue over the next two days with shows in Liverpool and Leeds.
A stop in London is planned for September 2, taking place at HERE at Outernet in collaboration with Rough Trade, and shows wrap up with a stop at Brighton’s Concorde 2 the following night (3).
“COME ONE, COME ALL! The Hives will be gracing intimate venues across the wondrous United Kingdom to commemorate the release of their album ‘THE HIVES FOREVER FOREVER THE HIVES’” the band said, announcing the shows on Instagram. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow (July 30) at 10am BST.

The Hives’ UK album release shows are:
AUGUST
29 – Nottingham, Rock City with Rough Trade
30 – Liverpool, Camp & Furnace with Jacaranda
31 – Leeds, Leeds University Stylus with Crash
SEPTEMBER
2 – London, HERE at Outernet with Rough Trade
3 – Brighton, Concorde 2 with Resident
The announcement of the shows comes shortly after the band shared the latest single from the forthcoming record – the riff-heavy ‘Legalize Living’. That followed on from the intense lead single ‘Enough Is Enough‘, which was shared back in April, and the follow-up ‘Paint A Picture’.
Earlier this year, Almqvist spoke to NME about the album and said that he thinks it is his “favourite” Hives album yet as it sees them return “faster than expected and better than ever”.
“After 30 years of being a band, we’re at the peak of our powers. That doesn’t happen a lot. I’ve studied rock history and it’s super rare. Judge for yourselves, but I’m assuming you’re going to agree,” he said.
He also explained why ‘Enough Is Enough’ was chosen as the lead single, adding: “I think ‘Enough Is Enough’ got picked as a single really early when there were demos because our manager thought it would sell concert tickets.
“They wanted to release that first because it’s got a big riff and it’s a perfect tempo for a crowd to jump up and down. It got picked so early when the other songs weren’t done, but I really like how it starts: ‘Everyone’s a little fucking bitch…’ That’s as close to political commentary as you’re gonna get! Basically, ‘Fuck both sides.’”
As well as the intimate album release shows, The Hives will soon embark on a UK and European tour, which includes dates at OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Aviva Studios in Manchester and Alexandra Palace in London. Visit here for remaining tickets and find a list of those shows below.

Yard Act are set to support the band at those shows, and announcing the news, Almqvist said: “That’s right! Your king has spoken. Yard Act will be joining The Hives, not just at their Alexandra Palace show but on the whole UK/EU tour. A worthy contender, let’s see if they can handle The Hives.”
Yard Act also shared the news in a video, where they joked about “whether it was a good look for us to be a support act”. The band’s frontman James Smith added: “Pelle said they are the best band in the world, and if there was only one band to look inferior to – it’s The Hives.
“And so we agreed that for now, in this timeline, we will accept the fact that we are the second-best band in the world, for the time being. And we may use the next two months to poison Pelle and bring The Hives to their knees.”
