'Thunderbolts*' Director Casues Weird Backlash Online Over Villain's Dark Inspiration

Thunderbolts* is just days away from its theatrical release and things are looking good. The movie is on track for a strong box office performance, and it has earned a decent Rotten Tomatoes score with its first reviews. But, director Jake Schreier has landed himself in hot water after revealing his creative process and explaining one of the dark inspirations behind the movie. The titular team, which includes Red Guardian (David Harbour), US Agent (Wyatt Russel), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), must face down Sentry (Lewis Pullman), one of the MCU's strongest villains to date. But the inspiration behind his powers came from a very disturbing place, and fans aren't happy.
