Why the Controversial '28 Years Later' Ending Is Great

28 Years Later has been a long time coming — 23 years, to be exact. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's original 2003 film 28 Days Later helped to redefine the "zombie" genre. While the infected at the heart of the original movie weren't zombies per se, they met enough characteristics to help make the film a landmark in the genre. While 28 Weeks Later would satiate fans who wanted to return to the world, it's Boyle and Garland's reunion in this third installment that has generated real excitement.
