Wunderhorse have pulled out of their TRNSMT appearance this weekend due to an “ongoing band illness”.

The London band were due to play at the Glasgow festival on Saturday (July 12), with their set having been scheduled for a slot in the afternoon on the Main Stage.

In an announcement on their Instagram Stories on Friday (July 11), however, they confirmed that they would not be able to play the gig.

“Due to ongoing band illness, we’re unable to play TRNSMT on Saturday. Sorry to miss you, we will be back. WH x”, they wrote.

Last month, the band played on The Park stage at Glastonbury 2025, which NME was in attendance for. A four-star review stated: “For the most part, Wunderhorse’s Glastonbury performance is a triumph that continues their great run in style. Sound bleeds from other stages occasionally hinder the performance, though, and a chatty audience dulls the atmosphere that the band’s presence and energy creates.”

Wunderhorse released their second album ‘Midas’ last year, which NME also awarded four stars, noting: “Where that debut album focused on Slater finally becoming the songwriter he had the potential to be, its follow-up reworks and refines his strong storytelling. Here, the frontman enriches his lyrics and pairs them with a dash of chaotic energy brought in by his bandmates and the unity between them.”

“Though it’s meant to be a second album, ‘Midas’ feels like a fresh start for a group that, through becoming a proper team, has found its way. It may only be a second album, but it looks like the business of Wunderhorse is set to continue to prosper.”

NME also caught up with the band after their Glastonbury set, with frontman Jacob Slater reflecting on ‘Midas’: “I’m just glad people were into it. We sort of took a less commercial route, so I think it’s testament to the record that people still stayed with us and were into the slightly newer sound.”

TRNSMT runs this weekend, with 50 CentBiffy Clyro and Snow Patrol all headlining the main stage.
